Project 15 Westwood Centre, Margate

Alteration and refurbishment of existing classrooms to provide vocational training facilities and additional teaching and office accommodation.

The project entailed the strip out and removal of existing facilities, new partitioning, replacement fire doors, new suspended ceilings and floor coverings.

Mechanical and Electrical elements of the work included installation of air conditioning, data and lighting alteration and installation of power to remodelled areas.

One of the existing classrooms was also converted into a new hair & beauty salon and all new areas and existing communal areas were redecorated.

The building was occupied for part of the contract period therefore Health and Safety of the Staff and students was of prime importance. Close liaison was necessary with the centre’s staff and our site workers to ensure site activities ran smoothly and caused as little disruption to day to day activities as possible.

Working closely with the client and their appointed Consultants and Designers the project was completed successfully in the short contract period of 6 weeks and was within budgetary constraints.
